On Sunday 1st of May Munich Moultoneers gathered for the first ride in 2005. This year we ride around Munich following the BUGA 05-RadlRing, a cycle track which was opened this year for the national garden exhibition BUGA.
We met at Unterhaching train station to cover the first half of the track, a distance of about 85 km. This time we had a record breaking 15 riders, although only 9 on Moultons. Guests came from Frankfurt and Zürich (Swiss importer Andreas Nägeli). To my surprise Marco Schütt presented me with an original AM2 handlebar as a gift for organizing the event.
In sunny weather we set out from Unterhaching to Ottobrunn and Ismaning. The quality of the new track ist very well with little traffic and a recommendation for leisure rides through the beautiful Bavarian landscape. During the day we stopped at various Biergartens because of the afternoon heat and finally finished at our destination Dachau.
The Moulton Continental Ride takes place twice a year, next ride October 8th.
